Rain Or Shine keeps Kiefer in check in rout of NLEX
Maverick Ahanmisi scored 20 points and drilled in 5-of-7 3-pointers, as Rain Or Shine came away with a 97-86 win over NLEX in the PBA Philippine Cup at Araneta Coliseum on Friday.
James Yap added 12 points, 8 of which came in the second quarter, where the Elasto Painters outscored the Road Warriors 28-18 to cruise to its third win in 6 games.
Rain Or Shine led by as many as 21 points, 59-38 early in the third quarter, and kept NLEX at a safe distance.
A 13-4 run by NLEX in the fourth whittled down a 20-point deficit to 93-82 with 2:33 left in the game, before Don Trollano's basket extinguished NLEX's comeback try.
Kiefer Ravena, the No. 2 pick in this season's draft, finished with 14 points, but half of them were scored late in the fourth when NLEX was behind by a huge margin and Rain Or Shine had all but won.
