A member of the Canadian national team, Field bared that she suffered the injury in the third set of their match against Victoria Sports-UST last week following an awkward landing.

Team doctors assessed that there was a slight tear on the ligament and a minor damage on the patella, prompting her to have a complete rest for at least two weeks.

“It happened in the beginning of the third set (against UST) and I just tried to push through with it as much,” Field said. “I just landed on my knee and twisted it a little bit.”

“Basically, there’s a small tear on the ligament and a little bit of a problem in the patella so they just want to rest that so that it heals without having any further problem with it.”
