Meralco's Dillinger earns PBA Player of the Week award

MANILA, Philippines – Meralco forward Jared Dillinger earned PBA Player of the Week honors, thanks to his steady offense and leadership that helped the Bolts thrive in the 2017 PBA Governors' Cup playoffs.

The "Daredevil" averaged scored 15 points on top of five assists, three rebounds, and a steal to help Meralco overcome a 12-point deficit en route to a 104-96 win over Blackwater in their do-or-die quarterfinal game last week.

He then sustained his brilliance by also scoring 15 points in another come-from-behind win by Meralco, this time against Star in Game 1 of their best-of-five semifinals series.

Dillinger knocked down two three-pointers, then scored the go-ahead lay-up with 63 seconds left to help the Bolts claim a 72-66 win after falling behind by as much as 17 points.

His efforts earned him the PBA Press Corps Player of the Week award for the period of September 25 to October 1, beating Meralco teammates Baser Amer and Chris Newsome, TNT combo guard Jayson Castro, and Ginebra forward Joe Devance.
