Phoenix import Brown: ‘We’re not a well-respected team’
Phoenix import Brandon Brown said Friday that his Fuel Masters team isn’t on the same level as the other franchises in the PBA in terms of getting respect from game officials.
“We’re not a well-respected team in this league, I mean the referees are not going to give us any calls down the stretch,” said Brown Friday at Smart Araneta Coliseum after losing to TNT 110-103.
Though the foul discrepancy is just two between the two teams, 29-27 with less calls going to TNT, the KaTropa had 33 free throw attempts while the Fuel Masters had just 22.
TNT also had 10 free throw attempts in the final period while Phoenix had just six.
Brown, who finished with a game-high 49 points, said the only way to get the same level of respect their opponents’ enjoy is to stay consistent and win some games.
