Team Lakay's Kingad sets sights on ONE flyweight title
MANILA, Philippines - An up-and-coming Filipino prospect from Baguio City is determined to cement his status as a true contender in the flyweight division as he continues to see action in ONE Championship.
Kairat "The Kazakh" Akhmetov and Adriano "Mikinho" Moraes are two of the most outstanding flyweight fighters in the world today, and they will slug it out for the ONE flyweight world title in the main event of ONE: Conquest of Kings in Surabaya, Indonesia on July 29.
Team Lakay's Danny Kingad - a true warrior from the mountains of the Cordilleras - will also be fighting in the card.
An exceptional flyweight himself, Kingad is waiting in the wings to get his opportunity to vie for the title, and he aims to cement his stature as one of the division's best in the flourishing Asian MMA scene come fight night.
The 21-year-old Igorot warrior holds an unblemished professional record of 5-0, with one knockout victory and one submission triumph.
Kingad is a tremendous striker who also possesses solid grappling skills. In his most recent ONE Championship outing, he met a tough test in Malaysia’s Muhammad Aiman, and responded by putting on a complete performance en route to a unanimous decision victory.
