Russell Westbrook organizes California workouts for Thunder
The majority of the Oklahoma City Thunder roster plans to gather this week in Santa Monica, California, for workouts organized by NBA MVP Russell Westbrook.
Absent from the workout will be Paul George, who has been in Spain on a vacation that was planned before his trade to the Thunder. ESPN earlier reported that George would be back in time to participate.
Nick Collison (on a family vacation) and Alex Abrines (at home in Spain) won't be there and it's unclear if rookie Terrance Ferguson will participate, as he has yet to sign his rookie contract.
The workouts will run through Thursday and will mainly consist of informal drills and conditioning, led by the players.
It's an annual summer event for Thunder players to gather for a workout in the Los Angeles area, started by Westbrook, Kevin Durant and Serge Ibaka. As the only member of that trio remaining on the team, Westbrook has continued the tradition.
