Long minutes a non-issue for San Beda's Bolick

MANILA, Philippines – San Beda College guard Robert Bolick was unconcerned despite barely resting in the Red Lions' 81-74 win over rival Colegio de San Juan de Letran on Tuesday, even as his own head coach, Boyet Fernandez, admitted that his starting guard was "overworked."

Bolick logged over 38 minutes of playing time against the Knights, and the Red Lions needed every second of it. They trailed 27-34 at the half, only finding their rhythm in an explosive third period where they outscored Letran, 28-16.

"We will not win this game if not for my players," said Fernandez. "They simply stepped up."

"I really overworked Robert today at the point, but I know he's always giving me his best every time," he added.

Yet Bolick, who had a team high 22 points on top of five rebounds and five assists, dismissed concerns about exhaustion due to his extended playing time. Instead, he expressed confidence that he can sustain the workload.

"Maganda naman 'yung training camp namin noong summer," said Bolick. "At alam naman ni Coach Boyet kung paano kami alagaan eh. We just have to trust him. Kung sino man ang gusto niya ipasok sa court, it's his decision."
