Kobe Paras: In every game, we pray for soldiers in Marawi City
Before every game, rising basketball star Kobe Paras spares a prayer for the soldiers fighting local terrorists in Marawi City.
In an interview in Marco Polo Ortigas on Saturday, Paras made it a point to acknowledge the soldiers fighting for peace in the war-torn city.
"I want to acknowledge all the soldiers in Marawi because you know, they're the ones fighting for freedom and peace. It's not an everyday thing that people have a gun, fighting for their country," he said.
"I have so much respect for them and you know, every game, we pray for those people, we pray for the Philippines," added Paras.
Paras has been added in the roster of Gilas Pilipinas, which will represent the country in the upcoming Southeast Asian Games in Malaysia.
During the recently concluded 2017 Jones Cup, Paras penned "#PrayforMarawi" on his game shoes.
