CEU demolishes Zark's Burgers for 2nd straight win
MANILA, Philippines – Centro Escolar University (CEU) chalked up its second win in a row by routing Zark's Burgers, 78-62, in the 2017 PBA D-League Foundation Cup on Thursday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
The Scorpions broke the game open in the third quarter, as they limited Zark's to only eight points and grabbed a 59-44 lead.
Congolese center Rod Ebondo was once again at the forefront of CEU's attack, tallying 23 points, 21 rebounds, and two blocks.
Christian Uri had a near double-double with his 11 markers and nine boards, while JK Casiño handed out 10 points, three assists, and two rebounds to put the Scorpions up on an even 2-2 record.
Coach Yong Garcia, however, said his team cannot get too caught up on their winning streak as they have plenty to work on.
"Medyo nakakapag-adjust na rin kami, but still, ang dami pa ring mga lapses," he said. "Lagi naming sinasabi na kailangan naming mag-focus at mag-improve every game."
