Salado to sit out D-League with MCL sprain

MANILA, Philippines – Kent Salado's stint with Go for Gold in the PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup has been cut short by a knee injury.

The Arellano standout was diagnosed with a sprained medial collateral ligament (MCL) in his right knee following their game against Gamboa Coffee-St. Clare on Monday afternoon.

Salado exited the game with under 2 minutes left in the third quarter after an awkward landing that left him clutching his right knee. He was helped back to the bench and did not return to the game. In his absence, the Scratchers hacked out a 75-68 win.

Go for Gold coach Charles Tiu admitted after the game that they were "very worried."

"Parang may narinig nga siya na may tumunog daw," said Tiu. "I think our PT said baka MCL 'yun, so that might be a month or two. That's a big problem for us."
