Frankie Lim upbeat about Altas despite loss in Perpetual Help debut
MANILA, Philippines – Multi-titled mentor Frankie Lim will take the good with the bad following his coaching debut for the University of Perpetual Help Altas in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup.
Up against Che'Lu Bar and Grill-San Sebastian College, the Altas gave a good account of themselves in the opening half, but fell apart in the second half en route to an 83-70 defeat.
"We looked good in the first half," said Lim after the game. "They surprised me, actually."
Perpetual Help led 38-34 at the break, even after losing floor general Keith Pido to an ankle sprain in the opening period.
Lim praised their execution, shot selection, and effort. He also observed that the Altas displayed some things in the game that they do not show in practice.
"Marami ring surprises," he said. "So that's good, that's the upside."
