Magnolia extends win streak to 4, despite Paul Lee limping off
Mark Barroca scored 18 points and Magnolia bucked the absence of Paul Lee, as the Hotshots defeated TNT 91-83 in the PBA Philippine Cup at Araneta Coliseum on Saturday.
Lee left the game 5 minutes into the second half when he crashed into Troy Rosario as he went for the basket. Magnolia was ahead 52-51 at that point.
According to media reports, the Magnolia playmaker suffered a high-ankle sprain that forced him to miss the rest of the game.
"Medyo maga na rin (ang sprain), pero baka after ilang games makabalik agad ang batang 'yun," Magnolia head coach Chito Victolero said.
When Lee left, that's when the Hotshots began to make their move.
Justin Melton scored 12 of Magnolia's next 22 points to help Magnolia go up 74-62 at the end of the third quarter.
