Abueva leaves Alaska-Blackwater game due to ‘personal emergency’
Alaska forward Calvin Abueva left the game between his team Alaska and Blackwater even before the opening buzzer sounded at Smart Araneta Coliseum Saturday.
Abueva, who also ditched the Aces’ practice four days in a row, was said to be dealing with a “personal emergency” as people close to the situation described it.
Security staff inside Araneta said Abueva left the venue while the game was being played.
When asked about Abueva, the Aces coaches declined to comment during the halftime break.
Apart from missing his club’s practices, Abueva was also absent from Gilas’ weekly practice for three consecutive Mondays. Chot Reyes has since dropped him from the pool.
