Jeff Chan working his way back to shape in return from illness
MANILA, Philippines – Jeff Chan was solid in his return to Phoenix on Sunday, after missing their previous game due to a bout with the flu.
The veteran shooting guard sat out Phoenix's game against Kia last December 27 to recover from illness but made a big impact in their 102-95 triumph over the NLEX Road Warriors last Sunday.
Chan scored 18 points on 8-of-11 shooting, while adding six rebounds. He was unstoppable in the first half, making his first six field goals to help the Fuel Masters overcome a slow start.
"Siyempre, kailangan talunin 'yung mga malalakas na team," said Chan after their win. "Sila 'yung mga mahirap kasi eh. Para ma-reach namin 'yung goal na makaabot sa playoffs, kailangan namin sila matalo."
Though he contributed good numbers for Phoenix, Chan was admittedly far from 100% on Sunday.
