It's official: Louie Gonzalez is new La Salle coach
MANILA, Philippines – De La Salle University on Thursday officially announced that Louie Gonzalez is the new head coach of its men's basketball team.
This, after Aldin Ayo left the team at the end of the UAAP Season 80 men's basketball tournament.
Gonzalez was Ayo's chief deputy for three years, starting in 2015 when they steered the Letran Knights to the NCAA Season 91 title.
He accompanied Ayo to La Salle, and together they helped the Green Archers win the UAAP Season 79 title. They were the runners-up in Season 80, losing to archrival Ateneo de Manila University in the finals.
Gonzalez was also an assistant coach in Far Eastern University, and in GlobalPort and Kia in the PBA.
