NU's Alejandro takes pride in UAAP career despite exiting on losing note

MANILA, Philippines – J-Jay Alejandro exited the UAAP with nothing but fond memories of the time he spent in National University (NU) even if he ended his career with the Bulldogs on a low note.

NU was formally eliminated from the Final Four race in UAAP Season 80 after suffering a huge 106-81 loss to University of the Philippines (UP) last Saturday.

In his final game in an NU uniform, Alejandro labored to a 16-point performance, making only five of his 19 attempts on top of four rebounds and eight assists. He was unable to match the effort of UP's Paul Desiderio, who fired 30 points to tow the Fighting Maroons to the crucial win.

"It didn't go well," Alejandro said of the game. "Whole game, 'di ba, parang up-and-down. It's like a rollercoaster – babalik kami, tapos malalamangan."

"Ganoon talaga. There is defeat in every situation," he added, before proceeding to commend his teammates who continued fighting even when it was clear that the Bulldogs were on the verge of defeat.
