As Manong Derrick's outfits changed, so did the UE Red Warriors
MANILA, Philippines – University of the East's (UE) campaign in UAAP Season 80 will most likely be remembered for two things: Alvin Pasaol's incredible scoring feats, and the fashion sense of their head coach, Derrick Pumaren.
Pumaren's OOTDs have drawn as much attention as Pasaol's high-scoring ways, and together they have given some shine to another disappointing season for the Red Warriors.
In their final game of the men's basketball tournament, "Manong Derrick" again turned heads with a red hoodie topped by a dark denim jacket, paired with white pants, and Chucks.
Pumaren previously said his fashion choices were meant to lend some much-needed swagger to the Red Warriors and inspire his team that sometimes played without much spirit.
"Sometimes, we played na parang wala kaming yabang," Pumaren explained once more after their last game of the season. "Parang walang yabang 'yung team. So kailangan, medyo mag-rub (off) kahit paano sa kanila."
