Salado's absence of no comfort to Letran

MANILA, Philippines – It can be argued that the Colegio de San Juan de Letran Knights should be the favored team heading into their knockout game against the Arellano University Chiefs on Friday at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

As both teams battle for the right to play San Sebastian College for the last spot in the NCAA Season 93 Final 4, the Knights boast of a complete team, having welcomed back center Jeo Ambohot from a wrist injury a couple of weeks ago.

In contrast, the Chiefs are playing without star point guard Kent Salado, who is out for the rest of the season with a knee injury. The dynamic guard was the engine of Arellano's offense for most of the year, and averaged 19 points and five assists per game.

Nevertheless, the Knights insist that Salado's absence is no assurance of their victory.

"Mas maganda nga ata ang takbo ng Arellano noong wala si Kent eh," noted Letran coach Jeff Napa. "Talagang mas naging organized sila, kumbaga nagre-rely sila sa isa't isa."
