MANILA, Philippines – (UPDATED) History was made at the jam-packed FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan on Thursday afternoon, as two of the best collegiate teams in the land engaged in a duel for the ages.

When the final buzzer sounded, the Pirates came away with a thrilling, heart-stopping 107-105 victory in double overtime, giving them an 18-game sweep of the elimination round, as well as an outright finals berth in the NCAA Season 93 men's basketball tournament.

"Credit goes to the players," said Lyceum coach Topex Robinson after the game. "They just didn't want to give up. Credit goes to the coaches also – they are working extra hard."

"It's really about being together. We always talk about how 'together is better.' It's just a testament of really working together as a solid group," he added. "These guys, really, they get the credit."

Lyceum and San Beda have been on a collision course since July 14, when the Pirates stunned the defending champions Red Lions, 96-91, in the first round.
