Chooks-to-Go falls to Palestinian club

After an impressive outing against BC Astana of Kazakhstan in their debut Friday, Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas couldn't sustain its form against Sarreyet Ramallah of Palestine in the FIBA Asia Champions Cup.

The weary Pinoys, who had less than 24 hours of rest following their win over Astana, yielded to Sarreyet, 89-82, absorbing their first defeat in the tournament.

Kiefer Ravena again led Chooks with 24 points on 8-of-15 field-goal shooting, but a hobbling Isaiah Austin couldn’t do much on defense, which allowed Sarreyet to capitalize.

The Pinoys had a chance to still pull off the win in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter after Raymar Jose’s basket cut Sarreyet’s lead to 4 points, 73-69.

But Sarreyet managed to keep the lead and score its first victory of the competition.
