Teng downplays latest feat, says anyone from Thunder can step up

For the third straight game, Jeron Teng displayed the improved dimensions of his game as he racked up another triple-double of 24 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists in Flying V’s 116-101 win over Batangas on Tuesday.

Now the league leader for most triple-doubles at three, the 23-year-old has solidified his case as one of the best amateurs in the league today.

But that’s the least of Teng’s concerns as he keeps his eyes on the prize.

“It just happened,” he said, downplaying his recent statistical feat which also helped the Thunder complete a 10-game eliminations sweep of the 2017 PBA D-League Foundation Cup.

Teng maintained that he may be leading the team in stats, but anyone in the roster is capable of delivering any given day.

“We know what we’re capable of. We got a good organization and the best coaching staff. We have players who are veterans so you can really expect that any one in our team can step up,” he said.
