Pocari's Pablo tentative to play in Game 2 vs BaliPure

MANILA, Philippines — Reigning Premier Volleyball League Open Conference MVP Myla Pablo of Pocari Sweat will not be in full strength when they take on Bali Pure in Wednesday’s Game Two of their best-of-three title showdown at the Filoil Arena in San Juan City.

Pablo, who won her very first MVP trophy Saturday, checked in at an undisclosed hospital Sunday morning, the day after her Lady Warriors absorbed a stinging 22-25, 19-25, 22-25 defeat to the Water Defenders in the series opener Saturday.

Sources close to Pablo said that the power-hitting open spiker was diagnosed with a UTI (Urinary Tract Infection) and already felt pain as early as Saturday.

“She (Pablo) had pain on her abdomen since Saturday. On Sunday morning, she was brought to the hospital and they said she has UTI,” said the same source.

Obviously bothered, Pablo had a season-low nine points in the opener.
