PH bet Torres chokes out Ishige for debut win in ONE
MACAU—Jomary Torres announced her arrival in the premier MMA promotion in Asia with a dominant victory over Rika Ishige in their atomweight bout in ONE Championship: Kings & Conquerors Saturday at Cotai Arena here.
The 21-year-old shook off a sluggish first round and leveled Ishige with brutal right hands and eventually ended the fight with a rear-naked choke 1:58 into the second round.
Torres is now 2-0 in her professional career, 1-0 in ONE, while Ishige slipped to 2-1.
Ishige almost had Torres in the first round when she nearly put the Filipino in an armbar after several takedowns in the opening period.
