KUALA LUMPUR – Anna Clarice Patrimonio fought hard for every point and withstood Cambodian Andrea Ka, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (5), in a grueling showdown to reach the gold-medal round of the SEA Games women’s singles at the National Tennis Centre in Jalan Duta yesterday.

A more matured player at 23, Patrimonio played with so much patience and hard work to dispose of the Cambodian No. 1 player in two hours and 12 minutes and set up a title match with titleholder and top seed Luksika Kumkhum of Thailand.

Kumkhum sustained her blistering run and dumped Singaporean Stefanie Tan, 6-1, 6-1.
