Napa hopes Knights can break jinx of the home team
MANILA, Philippines – So far in the "NCAA on Tour," home teams have not been able to take advantage of playing on their own court.
First, the Arellano University Chiefs were gored by the San Sebastian Golden Stags on their home floor in the first stop of the "Tour" last July 13.
Later, Arellano coach Jerry Codiñera admitted that playing at home only added pressure for the Chiefs.
One week later, the Mapua Cardinals also failed to defend their home court, as their rally against the visiting Perpetual Help Altas fell agonizingly short.
On Thursday, Letran gets its chance to host the next stop of the "NCAA on Tour," as they welcome the visiting College of St. Benilde Blazers on their campus.
The Knights are favored to defeat a struggling CSB team and build on their win against Arellano last Tuesday, but head coach Jeff Napa does not want to leave anything to chance.
