CSB rallies past Mapua, ends 4-game skid
MANILA -- For the first time in the NCAA Season 93 men's basketball tournament, the De La Salle-College of St. Benilde (CSB) Blazers won a game on their own terms.
The Blazers recovered from a 15-point deficit in the third quarter to outgun the Mapua University Cardinals, 74-69, and snap a four-game losing streak on Tuesday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
It marked the first time that they won on the basketball court itself, as their first win of the season came via University of Perpetual Help's forfeiture for wearing the wrong uniform in their season-opener.
JJ Domingo unleashed a career-high 24 points, while Senegalese center Clement Leutcheu had a double-double of 14 points and 17 rebounds.
It was the pair's fourth-quarter effort that spelled the difference in the game, as they sparked the run to overhaul a 52-61 deficit after three quarters.
