Alyssa unsure if she can join Creamline for PVL semis

MANILA, Philippines – Alyssa Valdez did not take any time off after the national women's volleyball team's training camp in Japan, instead going straight to her club team's practice in Katipunan just a few hours after arriving in Manila.

Valdez and the rest of the squad arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 on Wednesday afternoon, after which the former Ateneo de Manila University superstar went straight to the Creamline Cool Smashers' practice in Katipunan.

The Cool Smashers more than held their own without Valdez, as they completed a sweep of the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference elimination round last July 30.

However, Creamline will surely need Valdez in their best-of-3 semifinals series against Bali Pure, which starts on Saturday.

"Hopefully," Valdez said when asked if she can return to her club team.

"I'm really hoping na makabalik ako and makatulong, and maka-contribute talaga sa team, makapag-laro with them. We're really hoping," she added.
