Aldo predicts McGregor may 'never fight again' after Floyd bout

Brazilian mixed martial arts (MMA) star Jose Aldo gives his Irish rival, Conor McGregor, no chance of beating Floyd Mayweather Jr. in their upcoming match on August 26 in Las Vegas.

Yet Aldo, one of the most dominant featherweights in the history of the UFC, also believes that the result of the bout is secondary to McGregor.

Jose Aldo.
Instead, Aldo said in an interview with the Los Angeles Times that the "Notorious" is only fighting Mayweather for the massive payday that comes with it.

"It's a joke. He's just looking for the money," Aldo told Lance Pugmire of the LA Times.

The showdown between Mayweather and McGregor is tipped to be the most lucrative fight in the history of the sport, especially after the two protagonists went on an explosive, at times controversial, four-city tour to promote their event.

McGregor has been firmly established as the underdog in the fight. Despite his superb MMA credentials, the Irishman has little experience in boxing. Indeed, August 26 marks the first time he will fight in a professional boxing match.
