Dana White offers blueprint for McGregor to beat Mayweather

Mixed martial arts promoter Dana White says it’s no secret that Conor McGregor will try to outbox Floyd Mayweather Jr. when they meet inside the boxing ring on August 26.

White says size and strength will be McGregor’s assets on fight night, not skills.

“He’s not a boxer. At the end of the day, Conor McGregor is not a boxer, he’s a fighter. Conor McGregor is the bigger, stronger guy and needs to hit Floyd Mayweather and needs to hurt him," White said in a story posted on BoxingScene.com.

White's suggestion is reminiscent of Jeff Horn's game plan versus Manny Pacquiao, in which the Australian engaged Pacquiao in a bloody brawl.

“I see (McGregor) getting in, turning it into a fight and roughing Floyd up,” White said.

McGregor, a two-division MMA champion, has never fought professionally as only a boxer, while Mayweather is a 5-division world champion with a perfect 49-0 record.
