Coach upset as Adamson 'took a step back' in loss to Perlas
MANILA, Philippines – Adamson University head coach Airess Padda was quite disappointed at how the Lady Falcons performed in their Premier Volleyball League (PVL) game against Perlas-BanKo on Sunday, which saw her young team lose in four sets.
The Lady Falcons got off to a slow start, dropping the first two sets, before recovering in the third frame. They led for most of the fourth set, but faded down the stretch as Perlas seized a 25-18, 25-16, 21-25, 25-21 win.
Adamson is now 0-2 in the Open Conference, but more than their record, Padda is much more dissatisfied with how they played.
"I was disappointed with how we started the match. I felt that in the first two sets, we were dead," Padda told reporters after the contest. "We didn't have energy, our passing was really bad, inconsistent."
"I just told the girls that I felt they didn't come here to win. They didn't show up to win today," she added.
What makes Padda even more frustrated is that the Lady Falcons played quite well in their first game of the conference against Creamline, showing great fight against the Alyssa Valdez-led Cool Smashers.
