Phoenix feeling the pressure after 3rd straight loss
MANILA, Philippines – The road ahead will only get tougher for the Phoenix Fuel Masters, who are already reeling following three consecutive losses in the 2017 PBA Governors' Cup.
An 86-92 setback to the Blackwater Elite on Sunday dropped the Fuel Masters' record to 2-3, with games against the top teams in the league still on the horizon.
"Seventh place kami noong last conference," Phoenix coach Ariel Vanguardia told reporters after Sunday's defeat. "The first five games, we played the teams that are below us, and we are just 2-3."
"So now, we're playing teams, the six teams that are above us," he pointed out. "So kumbaga, kung walang change, if there's no change, it's going to be very difficult for us."
"So expect some changes," he warned.
