Blatche wishes Gilas luck in FIBA Asia Cup
MANILA, Philippines – Naturalized Filipino center Andray Blatche on Tuesday evening wished the Philippine men's national basketball team the best of luck in its campaign in the FIBA Asia Cup in August.
Blatche was left off the list of player submitted by Gilas coach Chot Reyes to the tournament organizers, and 6-foot-8 Fil-German Christian Standhardinger will instead be the team's naturalized player.
In an Instagram post, Blatche said that while he is always thankful for the chance to represent the Philippines, it was simply not possible for him to do so this time around.
Blatche last saw action for the Philippines in the SEABA Championship in May, where he anchored Gilas Pilipinas' dominant run in the tournament.
