Zark's routs AMA for first PBA D-League win
MANILA, Philippines – James Mangahas and Robby Celiz carried Zark's Burger to its breakthrough victory in the 2017 PBA D-League Foundation Cup, as they routed AMA Online Education, 109-91, on Monday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
Mangahas tallied 26 points, 14 rebounds, and two assists, and was at his best in the second quarter when the Jawbreakers took control of the game, surging to a 55-45 halftime lead.
Celiz then joined the party in the second half, scattering 12 of his 25 markers on top of seven rebounds and four assists to help Zark's snap a three-game slide.
"Sabi ko sa kanila, we're down 0-3, so this is a must-win for us," said Coach Jade Padrigao. "This is our best chance to win because of the make-up of both teams."
"Masaya ako, kasi nawala na 'yung jinx. For me, relief ito. Sana, magtuloy-tuloy na," he added.
Clark Bautista also added 18 points on a 3-of-7 shooting from threes, to go with his six rebounds and three assists.
