Trainers predict Pacquiao-Horn fight will end in stoppage

MANILA, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao offered no predictions as to how his fight against Jeff Horn on Sunday will turn out, while the young Australian only said that he was repeatedly visualizing having his arm raised and getting the WBO welterweight belt strapped to his waist.

Both fighters' trainers, however, were far more detailed in their predictions for the championship showdown at the Suncorp Stadium, which will see Pacquiao fight in Australia for the first time in his illustrious career.

The Filipino's longtime trainer, Freddie Roach, believes the time is ripe for Pacquiao to end a knockout drought that stretches all the way back to 2009, when he stopped Miguel Cotto in the 12th round in one of the finest performances of his career.

"You know, Manny is in great shape, he's looking really good," Roach said when asked for his prediction for the fight. "He doesn't like to predict knockouts, but I do."

"I think it's going to be short and sweet," Roach predicted boldly. "If our opponent comes out just like he says he's going to, then Manny will fire back. I think it's going to be a great fight, but it won't last too long."

"Someone will get knocked out," he warned.
