Jayson Castro powers TNT past San Miguel to even finals at 2-2

Wednesday night began with San Miguel Beer in the spotlight winning the conference's top individual awards. It ended with TNT claiming the more important collective victory.

Jayson Castro scored 17 points, including 8 in a game-altering 16-5 wind-up, to lead TNT to a 102-97 victory over San Miguel Beer in Game 4 of the PBA Commissioner's Cup finals at Araneta Coliseum.

Joshua Smith tallied 20 points and 15 rebounds for the KaTropa, who tied the best-of-7 series at 2-2.

Game 5 is on Friday also at the Big Dome.

"Tonight we ended up with the win, but all we did really is just to tie the series," TNT coach Nash Racela said.

"After they got the awards, I huddled the team and told them, 'Let them get all the individual awards and just get the team award.' For us, it's the more important thing."

San Miguel led most of the 4th quarter and was up 89-86 when TNT went to work, capitalizing on the Beermen's missed shots and the fouling out of June Mar Fajardo.
