Struggling Pogoy bound to rebound soon
So far, the only game where Roger Pogoy became a factor was the first game of the 2017 PBA Commissioners Cup Finals. The former FEU player produced 27 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and converted five three-pointers.
Things turned sour for Pogoy in the next two games, unable to score a single point. His absence has hurt TnT allowing San Miguel Beer to take a 2-1 lead in the series.
“Siguro, bad game lang, siguro. Bawi na lang next game,” said Pogoy after his Game 3 performance.
Pogoy was a marked man for the Beermen after game 1. Adjustments were on the rookie, a slight reminder that Pogoy still had a long way to go in the PBA.
“Grabe sila mag-close out,” said Pogoy as he described SMB’s defense. “Dati pinapabayaan lang nila ako. Ngayon grabe sila mag-close out. Kapag tumira ako, may chuma-challenge na talaga.”
TnT head coach Nash Racela stood up for Pogoy, someohe he has handled when both were in the college ranks.
