Rhodes eyes ‘bigger award’
San Miguel reinforcement Charles Rhodes is the last import standing from the original batch in the 2017 PBA Commissioners Cup and seems to be well on his way to winning the 2017 PBA Best Import Award.
While everything seems inevitable, Rhodes prefers to hold the bigger prize than the individual award in front of the PBA fans.
“It would be nice to just come and win (the BPC award) but, I know it sounds cliché but it is the truth, the biggest accomplishment for me is the championship,” said Rhodes.
Rhodes had his best performance of the series in Game 3. That win allowed the Beermen seize control of the series (2-1). Rhodes had another double-double performance, finishing the night with 25 points and 20 caroms.
Rhodes best scoring performance was back in Game 1 when he finished with 31 points. But as most know, bulk of that came in the opening period after which he was scoreless in the second and third periods. Worse, SMB lost to TnT in game 1.
Despite being up 2-1, Rhodes knows that this will still be a long series.
