Racela says reducing turnovers key for TNT comeback

MANILA, Philippines – It's back to the drawing board for TNT.

After losing to San Miguel Beer in an intense Game Three of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Sunday night, Nash Racela is not reaching for the panic button. Well, not yet.

"Rest is very important," he shared, when asked about his take on the series' two-day break. "But we told the team to make sure we do our homework, watch the game and study."
"I told everybody to pitch in if they have suggestions, be ready to throw it," the first-year TNT coach added.

If it's any consolation, Racela already has a lead on how to bounce back on Game Four of the PBA Finals on Wednesday night. Troubleshooting won't be too steep a task when his squad huddles for a strategy and goes back to practice.

"We committed a lot of turnovers [on Sunday]. That's basically the problem," he shared. "Twenty-three turnovers, that resulted to 26 turnover points. That's one problem that we need to really address."

Those errors are usually the byproduct of a two things going south, he added: "[It's] because of their defense, because of, siguro, poor execution on our part. So we need to really look at that."
