Philippines rally falls short in loss to Slovenia

The Philippines lost 21-14 to Slovenia in pool play in the FIBA 3x3 World Cup in Nantes, France on Tuesday (Wednesday, Manila time).

The Filipinos fell 5-0 to the Slovenians and at one point looked ready to be blown out when the latter went up 15-7.

But Kobe Paras and co. chipped away at the deficit to come to within 15-11 after JR Quiñahan's follow-up basket.

With a chance to draw nearer, Paras missed his layup, before the Slovenians hit back-to-back 2-pointers to snuff out the Filipinos' comeback hopes.

Adin Kavgic closed the game with a bucket off an offensive rebound with 1:20 left in the game.

Ravena led the Philippines with 7 points, while Paras had 4.
