Philippines rally falls short in loss to Slovenia
The Philippines lost 21-14 to Slovenia in pool play in the FIBA 3x3 World Cup in Nantes, France on Tuesday (Wednesday, Manila time).
The Filipinos fell 5-0 to the Slovenians and at one point looked ready to be blown out when the latter went up 15-7.
But Kobe Paras and co. chipped away at the deficit to come to within 15-11 after JR Quiñahan's follow-up basket.
With a chance to draw nearer, Paras missed his layup, before the Slovenians hit back-to-back 2-pointers to snuff out the Filipinos' comeback hopes.
Adin Kavgic closed the game with a bucket off an offensive rebound with 1:20 left in the game.
Ravena led the Philippines with 7 points, while Paras had 4.
