Milan Melindo to make his first title defense on September 16
Newly crowned light flyweight king Milan Melindo is penciled to make his first title defense on September 16.
According to PhilBoxing.com, “El Metodico” will fight in the main event of “Pinoy Pride 42” at Waterfront Hotel & Casino in Cebu City.
ALA Promotions, however, has yet to name his opponent.
Melindo won the light-flyweight title by knocking out Japan’s erstwhile champion Akira Yaegashi in just one round last month.
Melindo's scheduled title defense is set on the same day when Kazakhstan’s unified middleweight champion Gennady “Triple G” Golovkin clashes against Mexican superstar Saul “Canelo” Alvarez in Las Vegas.
