San Miguel regains top spot after comeback win over Magnolia

ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal -- (UPDATED) San Miguel is back in first place.

The three-time defending champion Beermen escaped with a 77-76 win over Magnolia Sunday in the 2018 PBA Philippine Cup at the Ynares Center here.

Down by as many as 16, San Miguel went to work in the fourth period, clamping down on the Hotshots to snap Magnolia's five-game winning run.

The Beermen regained the No. 1 spot with this comeback, improving to 6-1, half a game ahead of Magnolia and Alaska.

"Sa start we were shocked with the defense they had. Based on our experience last six games, it's not that physical pero tonight, it's very intense," head coach Leo Austria said.

"If we lose this game, mag-slide kami but now we're back at number one. It's really hard to lose a game because every game is very important," he added
