Wang’s-Letran to make mark

WANG’S Ballclub-Letran hopes to make a major impact when the PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup opens shop on Thursday at the Ynares Sports Arena.

Donning the Couriers jersey this time around are Bong Quinto, JP Calvo and  Jerrick Balanza, who were key players in the Knights’ historic 2015 NCAA title run.
   

NCAA champion Letran College and MBL titlist Wang’s Ballclub have agreed to join hands in the coming PBA D-League basketball tournament starting Jan. 18 at the Ynares Sports Center. To be handled by coach Jeff Napa and manager Alex Wang and bannered by key mainstays, Wang’s Ballclub-Letran will make its season debut against AMA Online Education starting at 2 p.m. on Jan. 23.

Jeo Ambohot, one of the Gilas Pilipinas prospects for the 2023 Fiba World Cup which the country his hosting, will also banner Wang’s-Letran, along with Bonbon Batiller, Fran Yu, Christian Fajarito and Larry Muyang.
   
The Couriers also boosted their stock by acquiring Knights alum Rey Publico and Far Eastern University's Joe Trinidad.
   
Wang's-Letran coach Jeff Napa wants to repay the trust of team owner Alex Wang  by being competitive in the season-opening conference.
   
“Si Boss Alex (Wang) wala naman sinasabi sa akin  na target pero gusto ko siyempre masuklian ang kabutihan niya sa amin. Gusto lang niya maging competitive yung team namin,” said Napa.
