Thirdy gets another chance to team up with Manong Kiefer

MANILA, Philippines – The supposed partnership between the Ravena brothers never truly panned out for Ateneo, as Kiefer and Thirdy played together for just one season as Blue Eagles.

Kiefer was superb in Season 77, his fourth season in the league. "The Phenom" averaged 21.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game en route to MVP honors.

Thirdy, then a rookie, was considerably less impressive; he averaged only 1.4 points and 1.6 rebounds per game as he saw limited minutes.

Kiefer returned for his final playing year in Season 78, with the hopes that he and his brother can play together more often. That would not be the case: Thirdy was ineligible for the season due to academic deficiencies. The older Ravena went on to win a second straight MVP award, but not with his brother by his side.

Now, however, they have the chance to be teammates again – and this time, it will not be for their college team.

Thirdy was named by Chot Reyes to his "23 for 23" wish list, meaning he is a candidate to make it to the national team for the 2023 FIBA World Cup. Kiefer, of course, is already playing for Gilas Pilipinas, and the older Ravena is hopeful that he and his younger brother will be teammates again in five years.
