Pringle wants more from Globalport after first win

Globalport just notched its first win in the 2018 PBA Philippine Cup, but skipper Stanley Pringle wants to see more effort from his team in the future games.

The Batang Pier took the glow out of Rain or Shine with a 78-70 win Friday at Mall of Asia Arena in a game where defense became the all-encompassing theme.

In its first two games, Globalport allowed its opponents to score upwards of 100 points and the 70 points the Elasto Painters scored were a testament to the Batang Pier’s improved defense.

Pringle, though, wants his team to rebound the ball more despite having a slight 59-56 edge over Rain or Shine in that statistical department.

“It was a good win, but we need to rebound and box out better,” said Pringle, who had 29 points and nine rebounds. “We played okay defense today, we kept them under a hundred points, but the rebounding was terrible. We’ll try to bounce back with our rebounding.”
