Gamboa Coffee faces Go for Gold in PBA D-League
MANILA, Philippines — Gamboa Coffee Mix-St. Clare collides with Go for Gold while Che’Lu Bar and Grill-SSC-R tangles with Perpetual Help at resumption of the PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup at the Pasig Sports Center today.
The Coffee Lovers, backed by three-time NAASCU champion St. Clare, take on the Scratchers at 2 p.m. with the former going for a strong start after a dismal 1-9 debut last conference.
Go for Gold also tries to make an early impact on a team built around the St. Benilde core and backstopped by JJ Alejandro, Kent Salado, Matt Salem and ex-pro Jerwin Gaco.
“We’re hoping to compete against them because we’re a very young team and they are a team that’s been together for a while. It’s going to be a tough challenge for us,” said Go for Gold coach Charles Tiu.
Frankie Lim, meanwhile, debuts with the Altas in their 4 p.m. clash with the Revellers whose core is formed behind another NCAA team in San Sebastian.
