Busted lip a non-issue for Pingris

MANILA, Philippines—Magnolia forward Marc Pingris has experienced his share of injuries and wounds during his PBA career, and so a busted lip caused by a collision with Kia's Jackson Corpuz barely fazed him.

Pingris bled profusely from a cut just above his upper lip during the first quarter of Magnolia's PBA Philippine Cup game against Kia on Wednesday night, as he was hit by Corpuz while the Kia forward attempted to go for a steal.

The veteran had to go to their dugout to get stitches, but returned to the game and finished with six points and four rebounds in what turned out to be a massive 124-77 blowout win for the Hotshots.

"Part naman ng game 'yun," Pingris said dismissively after the game, even as he admitted that the cut was painful.

"Hindi naman natin maiiwasan 'yung ganyan," he pointed out. "Pasalamat naman ako kay Lord na butas lang naman."

"Okay lang. Basta ako, part lang ng game 'yun. 'Di naman sinasadya."
