Ancajas visits Pacquiao's old stomping grounds in LA
A week before he makes his debut in the United States, flyweight champion Jerwin Ancajas was officially introduced to Los Angeles media by Top Rank chief Bob Arum.
The Davao del Norte-born Ancajas fights for Manny Pacquiao's MP Promotions, and is now co-promoted by Arum's Top Rank.
"I think he's a scrappy kid. He has talent, he's a very, very nice boy who has good values, and I thnk he can become a major star on the international stage, on the US stage, and in the Philippines," Arum said of Ancajas.
"We really have high hopes for him. I'm not going to let anybody rush me into making fights for him, just because people want to see the fights," he added. "We're going to move him relatively slowly against good competition."
"I think we're going to make him a major star."
