Healthier now, Alaska looks to inflict pain on Magnolia, rest of the field
Alaska knows a thing or two about missing players because of injuries.
But it doesn’t mean coach Alex Compton and his crew have to sympathize with their banged-up opponents in the opening week of the PBA Philippine Cup.
The Aces battle Magnolia at 7 p.m. at San Juan Arena, right after the 4:15 game between NLEX and Kia.
Compton and his squad went on a freefall in the 2016-17 campaign, no thanks to an array of physical aches that at one point contributed to a stretch of futility that lasted 5 months.
So in the offseason, Compton instructed his team to rest hoping time away from basketball would return them fresh and hungry to compete again.
