La Salle coach Ayo wants to play 'whoever is deserving' in Finals
MANILA, Philippines – De La Salle University head coach Aldin Ayo has no preference when it comes to the Green Archers' opponent in the UAAP Season 80 Finals, insisting that they want to play "whoever is deserving."
The defending champions claimed the first of two Finals berths on Saturday, after a come-from-behind 82-75 win over Adamson University in the Final Four.
They are awaiting the winner of the other semifinals pairing between No. 1 seed Ateneo de Manila University and No. 4 seed Far Eastern University, with the Tamaraws looking to force a do-or-die game against the Blue Eagles.
"Be careful what you wish for," Ayo said when asked regarding his preference of opponent.
Ayo did not intend to give either FEU or Ateneo any bulletin board material ahead of the Finals, especially with both teams obviously determined to knock the crown off the Green Archers' heads.
