Hero’s welcome greets World Cup champ Krizziah Tabora

MANILA—Krizziah Tabora on Tuesday was met with cheers after ruling the QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in Mexico.

Tabora arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 at about 11 p.m. from Hermosillo, Mexico.

The 27-year-old said she couldn't believe she beat Malaysia's Siti Safiyah, 236-191, adding that she was nervous going up against veteran players but that focusing helped her to calm down.

Tabora was welcomed at the airport by fellow World Cup winners Paeng Nepomuceno and Bong Coo.

National team head coach Nepomuceno said Tabora's win gives the sport a "boost" in the country.
